Mushahid Hussain SYED is a journalist, geo-strategist, writer, received a Bachelor's Degree from the former Christian College and a Master's Degree from the School of Foreign Services in Georgetown University, Washington DC and has been committed to quality education.

After completion of his studies in the U.S., SYED became a Directing Staff of Pakistan Administrative Staff College, where he trained new entrants to the Foreign Service. He then joined the Punjab University as a Lecture on International Relations.

In 1982, he became the youngest Editor of a national English Daily, The Muslim. Amnesty International, the world's leading human rights organization, declared him a "Prisoner of Conscience", making him the first Pakistani to be so honored.

As an specialist on international, political and strategic issues, SYED has conducted extensive research and published articles in various national and international publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, International Herald Tribune and Middle East International. He is a Member of the Board of Governors of the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), a leading think tank. He was also a Pakistan's Representative to the Commission of Eminent Persons, set up by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) for its reform in 2004-2005. He is also the Vice President of the Centrist Democrat International (CDI) Asia-Pacific Chapter. On January 27th, 2006, SYED was awarded the "Congressional Medal of Achievement" by the House of Representatives of the Republic of the Philippines.

At present, SYED serves as Senator and Secretary-General on the Pakistan Muslim League (N) platform. Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) formed and led by him plays an important role in CPEC construction.
